Join us on April 28th at 1pm as we travel to Youngstown for a behind-the-scenes tour and Q&A session at the Tyler Mahoning Valley History Center and the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor on Sunday, April 28th from 1pm-5pm.
The day will begin at the Tyler Mahoning Valley History Center. Located in an historic landmark building and the brainchild of the Mahoning Valley Historical Society (MVHS), the Tyler History Center was created to complement the Arms Family Museum site. Traci Manning, Curator of Education, will discuss the issues with the Arms Family site and the reasons behind expansion at MVHS. The discussion will be followed by a sneak peek of the newly renovated building!
The group will then travel to the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor to discuss the museum’s major renovation with Dr. Donna DeBlasio and Dr. Marcelle Wilson of Youngstown State University. Dr. DeBlasio is the Director at the Center for Historic Preservation at YSU. Dr. Wilson is a part-time faculty member at YSU and the Director of the Aurora Historical Society. Each faculty member had a stake in the renovation and will share their knowledge and expertise regarding the matter. Bring your questions!!!
Please RSVP via facebook or send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Free parking is available next to the Tyler History Center on West Federal Street. We will create a caravan to the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor.
